Maintenance Technician 2nd

Smithfield Foods is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician 2nd to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our production lines and facilities.
Key Responsibilities- Perform routine maintenance tasks, including PMs, to ensure production lines are in good mechanical order.
- Aid other teams, such as production and quality, as needed.
- Setup and visually inspect equipment, and test machinery to ensure proper function.
- Repair and maintain physical structures of the establishment.
- Follow all ISO 14001 procedures and maintain a safe working environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent, and 1+ years of related experience in an industrial mechanical maintenance or food manufacturing environment.
- Ability to operate a forklift, genie lift, or scissor lift, or other powered industrial trucks.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to read and execute work orders, write daily reports, and translate equipment manuals.
The plant environment will include wet or humid conditions, extreme cold and heat, working near moving mechanical parts, exposure to fumes or airborne particles, and chemicals. Noise levels can be moderate to loud.
