About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Maintenance Technician 2nd to join our team at Smithfield Foods. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our production lines and facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks to ensure production lines are in good working order.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical issues with equipment and machinery.
  • Conduct regular inspections to identify potential problems and implement preventative measures.
  • Collaborate with other teams to ensure seamless production operations.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent and 1+ years of experience in industrial maintenance or a related field.
  • Vocational training or an associate's degree in a related field is preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and interact with all levels of personnel.
  • Valid forklift certification and ability to operate powered industrial trucks.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Work Environment

The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced production environment with moderate to high noise levels. The physical demands of the role include standing, walking, and lifting up to 75 pounds. Regularly lifting and moving up to 50 pounds is also required.
