Compensation: $22-$24 per hour
Key Responsibilities:
The Residential Support Specialist plays a vital role in the daily operations of our residential programs. Success in this position is measured by individual and team performance, as well as contributions to the overall goals of the program.
- Implement trauma-informed practices in all program activities.
- Provide ongoing coaching and feedback to enhance the skills of residential staff.
- Assist in the development and execution of residential programming.
- Conduct training sessions for new and existing staff.
- Support staff in completing required training and adhering to best practices.
- Facilitate activities with clients in collaboration with residential staff.
- Maintain open lines of communication with leadership regarding staff and client needs.
- Organize regular team meetings to review performance and client progress.
- Ensure thorough documentation by staff and promote accountability.
- Foster a collaborative and trusting environment among team members.
- Exhibit high standards of ethics and integrity in all interactions.
- Participate in training to become a trainer in trauma-informed practices.
- Respond effectively to crisis situations with a supportive approach.
- Assist with scheduling and staffing to meet program needs.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety policies.
- Continuously provide guidance and support to staff in the residential setting.
- Engage in the agency's Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) process.
- Serve as a role model for professionalism and teamwork.
- Assist in planning departmental events and activities.
- Be available for on-call responsibilities as needed.
Qualifications:
- Valid Driver's License and compliance with credentialing standards.
- Bachelor's degree with at least one year of experience working with children and youth.
- Preferred degree in health and human services or social work.
Emerging Leader Qualifications:
- Verified AP credentialing status; QP status preferred.
- Experience in leadership or management roles.
- Demonstrated potential for growth and development as a leader.
- Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills.
All residential staff must complete Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) training and demonstrate proficiency in therapeutic techniques.
