Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Care Specialist to join our team at the University of New Mexico Hospitals. As a Clinical Care Specialist, you will provide direct patient care and support services in an in-patient or out-patient environment.

Salary: $64,000 - $76,000 per year

About the Role
  • Provide routine patient care and related support services within an in-patient or out-patient environment.
  • Interview patients and take vital signs.
  • Perform activities of daily living (ADLs) and maintain supplies and equipment.
  • Deliver dirty instrument trays, transport patients, and assist with orientation of new staff members.
ResponsibilitiesPatient Observation
  • Observe patients to ensure their safety and well-being.
  • Report observations to the Charge Nurse or appropriate designee.
Patient Care
  • Provide basic patient care and take and record vital signs.
  • Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs).
  • Maintain therapeutic plans of care and minute-to-minute care of patients at extreme risk.
Development and Patient Safety
  • Enhance professional growth and development through educational programs, reading current literature, and attending in-services.
  • Follow patient safety-related policies, procedures, and protocols.
  • Demonstrate proactive approaches to patient safety by questioning current policies and processes.
  • Identify and report environmental conditions and/or situations that may put patients at undue risk.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Nursing or related field.
  • CPR for Healthcare/BLS Provider or Professional Rescuer certification within 30 days.
  • 6 months of patient care experience preferred.
Working Conditions

This position requires heavy work exerting 50-100 pounds of force occasionally and/or 25-50 pounds of force frequently and/or 10-20 pounds of force constantly.
