We are seeking a highly skilled Observation Assistant to join our team at UMass Memorial Health. As an Observation Assistant, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our patients.
Job Summary:The Observation Assistant will provide constant observation of high-risk patients, assist with patient care, and maintain a safe and clean environment. This is a 32-hour per week position, working evenings.
Responsibilities:- Provide constant observation of high-risk patients, monitoring their behavior and activity.
- Assist patients with daily activities, such as bathing, dressing, and using the bathroom.
- Maintain a safe and clean environment, including restocking supplies and cleaning equipment.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety.
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Ability to complete de-escalation training and certification program for Basic Life Support or Heartsaver course.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
