Job Summary

Mental Health Specialist II (MHS II) work in our Acute Behavioral Services (ABS) programs, serving individuals with intensive, interfering behavioral and mental health needs. These programs focus on creating a safe and supportive environment, utilizing a person-centered approach to support individuals in reaching their goals.

As an MHS II, you will work with individuals who have complex and high-level behaviors, requiring manual restraints and exposure to mental, emotional, and physical manipulation. You will be trained to handle these situations and work collaboratively with the team to ensure the safety of the individual, staff, and community.

Responsibilities
  • Provide support and care to individuals with disabilities
  • Work collaboratively with the team to create a safe and supportive environment
  • Utilize a person-centered approach to support individuals in reaching their goals
  • Handle complex and high-level behaviors, including manual restraints
