Key Responsibilities
  1. Assess and develop treatment plans for clients with dual diagnosis, ensuring comprehensive and effective care.
  2. Supervise and mentor junior staff members, providing guidance and support to ensure successful licensure and professional growth.
  3. Collaborate with the Clinical Manager to ensure seamless staffing and coverage, providing expert support in the absence of the manager.
  4. Develop and deliver in-house training programs for staff, focusing on areas of expertise such as dual diagnosis and substance abuse treatment.
  5. Utilize advanced professional skills to work with clients presenting with complex psychological, behavioral, and substance use issues.
  6. Manage a caseload of clients with severe and persistent mental illness, ensuring timely and effective treatment.
  7. Participate in quality assurance activities and file audits to ensure compliance with standards and regulations.
  8. Mentor and educate new staff members, including nurses, technicians, and administrators, on clinical procedures and best practices.
  9. Chair and participate in IC teams and committees, contributing to the development of policies and procedures.
  10. Exhibit expertise in all levels of the continuum of substance abuse treatment, including inpatient care, residential care, and individual sessions.
  11. Clinically supervise practicum students, interns, and counseling staff, ensuring adherence to insurance requirements and professional standards.
  12. Establish and maintain effective therapeutic relationships with clients and their families, addressing complex substance abuse problems.
  13. Conduct chemical dependency assessments and evaluations, including psychosocial assessments and mental health diagnoses.
  14. Ensure completeness and timeliness in clinical record keeping, including orientation, assessments, progress notes, and treatment plans.
  15. Provide educational lectures to clients and their families on substance abuse and mental health topics.
  16. Present clinical cases to multidisciplinary teams to develop and prioritize client needs, update treatment plans, and plan for discharge.
  17. Maintain active and consistent communication with referral sources and third-party payers to ensure continuity of care.
  18. Provide oversight of client care and clinically support other staff members in the absence of the Clinical Manager.
  19. Maintain professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations.
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must possess a Master's Degree in Counseling or a related field, as well as licensure as a Licensed Independent Mental Health Practitioner. Licensure as a Provisional Alcohol and Drug Counselor or Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor is preferred. Additionally, you must provide evidence of sobriety for a minimum of 12 months prior to employment.
