Job Summary:

As a Fiber Installation Specialist at STS/UtiliQuest, you will play a critical role in ensuring the reliable installation and maintenance of fiber and telecom lines. This position requires a strong understanding of cable construction and HFC plant fundamentals, as well as the ability to work safely at heights and in confined spaces.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the installation of fiber and telecom cables overhead, and promptly repair any issues to ensure efficient and reliable service
  • Perform proper set up for aerial construction completion of fiber and coaxial plant
  • Utilize a field strength meter, optical test equipment, hand tools, and splicing tools to splice and/or activate the cable system
  • Assist in the installation and activation of fiber optic cable, trunk, and feeder coaxial cables related to network operations
  • Safely use equipment like bucket trucks, digger derricks, excavators, hand tools, and power tools

Requirements:

  • Be 18 years of age or older
  • Authorization to work in the United States for this company
  • High School Diploma, GED equivalent, or relevant work experience
  • Valid state driver's license (cannot be Provisional), including an acceptable driving record
  • Previous construction experience desired, preferably within the telecommunications industry
