Job Summary

The Relief Veterinarian is a critical role at Banfield Pet Hospital, responsible for providing high-quality care to pets and their owners. As a key member of our veterinary team, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional patient care, working closely with our staff to ensure seamless operations, and upholding the highest standards of professionalism and integrity.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide Preventative Care and Treatment: Ensure the health and well-being of pets by providing preventative care, diagnosing and treating diseases and injuries, and prescribing and administering medications as needed.
  • Client Communication and Education: Educate clients on preventative care, pet health needs, and any diagnoses or treatment plans, ensuring they are informed and empowered to make the best decisions for their pets.
  • Collaborate with Veterinary Team: Work closely with our veterinary team to ensure seamless operations, share knowledge and expertise, and provide exceptional patient care.
  • Maintain Accurate Records: Maintain accurate and complete medical records, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and Banfield's standards.
  • Stay Up-to-Date with Industry Developments: Stay current with the latest industry developments, research, and best practices in veterinary medicine, ensuring you are equipped to provide the highest level of care.
Requirements
  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) or Equivalent Degree: A Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) or equivalent degree from an accredited veterinary program.
  • License in Good Standing: A valid license in good standing with the applicable state veterinary board.
  • License with the Drug Enforcement Agency: A license with the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) required.
  • Proven Surgical Skills: Proven ability to perform all basic surgeries, including the use of all standard medical instruments and equipment.
