Job Overview

Oswego County Opportunities, Inc. is seeking an experienced Human Resources Coordinator to oversee various critical areas of our nonprofit human services agency.

The ideal candidate will have excellent oral and written communication skills, professionalism, and the ability to gain cooperation from others with diplomacy. Strategic thinking, problem-solving abilities, and a passion for driving positive change are essential qualities for this role.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with leadership to establish strategic approaches for Human Resources functions.
  • Provide full supervision and monitor performance of assigned staff; manage ever-changing needs and ensure workload coordination with staff and training to assume responsibilities.
  • Develop and ensure sound policies and procedures are in place and adhered to oversight areas; make recommendations for HR and Agency-wide changes or new endeavors and assist in maintaining a departmental procedure manual.
Recruiting, Employee Relations, and Retention
  • Oversee recruiting endeavors including social media, creating and/or monitoring opportunities, campaigns, live recruitment events, relationships with community partners, and vendors.
  • Ensure compliance and documentation of various background check requirements specific to regulations, funder requirements, and Agency policies.
  • Review and approve requests for hire and changes in status; ensure compliance with policy, documentation, qualifications, procedures, and salary/benefits.
Salary and Benefits

This is an exempt-level position (Level 6) with a salary range of $60,000-$80,000 per year, depending on experience. The estimated annual salary for this role is approximately $65,000-$70,000.
