Job Overview

The Engineering Technician will be a key member of our team, working under the supervision of a Professional Civil Engineer. This role involves assisting in planning production and design using the latest AutoCAD Civil 3D software. Our projects encompass a wide range of sectors, including commercial, municipal/public works, utility substations, residential, and schools.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform CAD modifications based on plan markups, sketched information, and verbal direction.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers, Engineers, and other Technicians to provide drafting and design support during planning, design, and construction for various types of projects.
  • Ensure adherence to company CAD standards, files, details, etc.
  • Prepare presentation materials and graphics for project development, meetings, and reports.
  • Ability to stay on task and move to the next task with minimal oversight (self-starter).
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential for interacting with company personnel, including Managers, Engineers, other Technicians, and outside contacts and clients.
  • Ability to work independently at times and as part of a multidisciplinary team at others.
  • Manage multiple projects at various stages simultaneously (multi-task) and be comfortable with a dynamic project schedule that requires shifting job priorities with short notice.
  • Meet project deadlines to achieve project goals.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Technical degree/diploma/certificate in CAD, Engineering Design, or a related field (not required but preferred).
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD (required), Civil 3D (not required but preferred).
  • 2 years of experience in a civil engineering environment.
