Summary:
The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), under supervision, provides essential nursing support and assists residents with daily living activities.

Qualifications:
Education:
A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.

Licenses/Certification:
A valid CNA certification in the state of employment is required.

Experience:
Preferred six months of experience in a long-term care setting.

Job Functions:
- Responds to signal lights and bells to assess resident needs.
- Aids residents with grooming, oral hygiene, bathing, hair care, and incontinence management.
- Retrieves food trays and assists residents with feeding.
- Supports residents with range of motion exercises and transfers to wheelchairs or activity areas.
- Assists residents with turning and positioning in bed.
- Aids residents with short-distance ambulation within the facility.
- Takes and records vital signs, including temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration rates, as directed.
- Performs additional tasks as assigned.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to respond decisively and swiftly in emergency situations.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with residents, their families, and facility staff.
