Job Summary:

As a Hospice Care Assistant with Shrivers Hospice, you will provide essential personal care assistance to terminally ill patients in their homes. Under the direction of a registered nurse, you will perform tasks such as bathing, grooming, and ambulation, as well as provide emotional support and compassionate care to patients and their families.

Responsibilities:

Provide personal care assistance to patients, including bathing, grooming, and ambulation
Assist patients with daily living activities, such as eating, dressing, and using the bathroom
Provide emotional support and compassionate care to patients and their families
Maintain accurate records of patient care and communicate with healthcare team members as needed
Participate in ongoing education and training to maintain certification and stay up-to-date on best practices in hospice care

Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent required
Completion of a state-approved training program for home health aides
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion

Working Conditions:

Work in patients' homes, with occasional travel to Shrivers Hospice offices
Ability to lift, bend, and move patients as needed
Exposure to bloodborne pathogens and other infectious diseases
Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations
