Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Structural Design Specialist to join our team at Insight Structural Engineers. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for performing complex structural calculations, developing construction documents, and creating markups of design professionals' drawings.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform structural calculations for new and existing buildings, ensuring compliance with the California Building Code and ASCE 41.
- Develop construction documents for the design of new structures and modifications to existing structures.
- Create markups of design professionals' drawings using Bluebeam.
- Develop drawings in AutoCad and REVIT.
- Evaluate and strengthen existing buildings per the California Existing Building Code.
- Perform seismic evaluations of existing buildings.
- Conduct structural observations at construction sites to verify conformance with approved drawings.
- Provide technical guidance to staff and prepare structural reports.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Civil Engineering with a Structural Engineering emphasis.
- Experience with the California Building Code and structural references.
- Professional Engineering registration in California preferred.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
