As a Configuration Management Specialist, you will play a crucial role in shaping the history of space exploration.

This position requires your commitment and attention to detail towards safe and repeatable space flight. You will facilitate configuration management and control for various rocket engine test stand systems. Your contributions will positively impact all aspects of configuration management throughout the development lifecycle.

You will be responsible for comparing AutoCAD designs versus as-built P&IDs/drawings and ensuring they are in the correct configuration within Windchill for various rocket engine & component test facilities. Regular configuration reviews will involve addressing test article and subsystem interfaces, functionality, assembly, and operations.

About This Role
  • Maintain high-level Engineering Bills of Materials and product structures
  • Maintain artifact configurations within AutoCAD and Windchill
  • Ensure adherence to industry and Blue Origin configuration management standards and methodologies
  • Support improvement of program policy and procedures around effective configuration & organizational change
  • Ensure configuration supports major design reviews and integration landmarks
  • Maintain and report on engineering development activity and technical issues
  • Clear communication and collaboration with development teams
  • Clear communication with senior program leaders
Requirements
  • B.S. degree in engineering and 6+ years proven ability in design, development, sustainment, and/or configuration management of highly integrated, complex products
  • Experience in aerospace, mechanical, oil/gas, automotive, or other related industries
  • Proven configuration control experience on recently developed products from early trade studies through final design and into manufacturing and test, maintenance, and sustaining
  • Management of multiple configuration variants of a common design baseline
  • Management of changes to an operational (fielded) system with varying effectivities across multiple products
  • Familiarity with viewing and navigating large models in CAD programs (AutoCAD and/or Creo Pro/E preferred)
  • Ability to read and understand P&IDs and/or other AutoCAD schematics
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident, or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum
  • Ability to navigate fast-paced environments with standard work and special projects
