About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Psychiatric Technician II to join our team at Peninsula, a division of Covenant Health. As a Psychiatric Technician II, you will play a vital role in providing quality patient care and maintaining a safe and therapeutic patient environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide proper supervision and guidance to patients in daily activities as part of a patient care team.
  • Maintain a safe and therapeutic patient environment, adhering to hospital policies and procedures.
  • Report patient complaints and changes in psychiatric and/or medical condition to the Registered Nurse promptly.
  • Complete necessary paperwork and document patient care in a competent manner.
  • Implement emergency policies and procedures, ensuring emergency restrictive devices are available and in good working order.
  • Work collaboratively with the Nurse Manager, Nurse Supervisor, and co-workers to structure and monitor the unit milieu.
  • Participate in training and orientation of new staff members as directed.
  • Facilitate, implement, and evaluate patient care goals with the help and supervision of the Registered Nurse.
  • Monitor patient activities, vital signs, and collect urine specimens as needed.
Requirements
  • One year of prior experience in a behavioral health setting or a Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and maintain a professional image.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
