Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Senior Psychiatric Technician to join our team at Covenant Health. As a key member of our patient care team, you will provide exceptional support and guidance to patients, ensuring a safe and therapeutic environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide supervision and guidance to patients in daily activities
  • Maintain a safe and therapeutic patient environment
  • Report patient complaints and changes in psychiatric and medical condition to the Registered Nurse
  • Complete necessary paperwork and document patient care in a competent manner
  • Implement emergency policies and procedures, and ensure emergency restrictive devices are available and in good working order
  • Work with the Nurse Manager and team to structure and monitor the unit milieu
  • Serve as a preceptor and resource for new hires and existing staff
  • Facilitate, implement, and evaluate patient care goals with the Registered Nurse
  • Monitor patient activities and vital signs, and assist with activities of daily living
  • Deliver therapeutic activities as an extension of Clinical Services/Physical Therapy departments
Requirements
  • Two years of experience as a Psychiatric Technician at Peninsula
  • Valid Tennessee driver's license Class D with an "F" endorsement for up to 14 passenger vehicles, or Class "A", "B", or "C" with "P" endorsement for 15 passenger vehicles
  • State-mandated minimum insurance coverage
  • Driving record must meet Covenant Health minimum standards
