The RN Clinical Nurse is a key member of our interdisciplinary team, providing high-quality patient care and working collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions- Performs the Nursing Process (assessment, diagnosis, identification of outcomes, planning, implementation, and evaluation) in the performance of clinical care, utilizing evidence-based practice and analytical thinking to ensure individualized care.
- Provides relationship-based patient-centered care, adapting service delivery to reflect an understanding of cultural diversity and population-specific characteristics.
- Partners with patients and significant others to set and achieve patient goals, using effective communication methods and timely documentation.
- Practices using current clinical practice standards and promotes a respectful, inclusive clinical environment.
- Cordinates the delivery and documentation of safe, quality patient care, promoting the professional care delivery model and diverse, inclusive interdisciplinary communication methods.
- Demonstrates teamwork and collaboration by practicing in a fiscally responsible manner and promoting the recruitment and retention of all healthcare team members.
- Participates in performance improvement, research, and research utilization to promote safe, quality patient care, and actively supports shared governance at all levels in the system.
- Completes all initial and ongoing professional competency assessments, required mandatory education, and population-specific education.
- Serves as a preceptor and/or mentor for other professional nurses, ensuring a current and future qualified workforce and modeling the professional practice of nursing.
- Promotes evidence-based practice, nursing research, and performance improvement in nursing, participating in activities such as value analysis to evaluate patient care products.
- Upholds all healthcare system/organizational policies and procedures, clinical competencies, and professional association standards, ensuring goals such as TJC Patient Safety Goals and Wellstar Health Systems safety absolutes.
- Participates in data collection, poses relevant clinical questions, and consults experts and resources to address practice questions.
- Proactively plans for patient care across the care continuum, providing direct patient care and participating in the development of protocols and procedures to achieve best practice outcomes.
- Supports efficient and effective use of human and material resources.
- Associates Nursing or Bachelors Nursing (Preferred)
- Reg Nurse (Single State) or RN - Multi-state Compact
- Basic Life Support or BLS - Instructor
