Controller - Construction Specialist

Our client, a leading construction company, is seeking a highly skilled Financial Controller to join their team. As a key member of the finance department, you will be responsible for overseeing all accounting functions, ensuring data integrity and accuracy, and maintaining compliance with GAAP accounting standards.
Key Responsibilities:
• Maintain the general ledger and reconcile all account balances and bank statements monthly.
• Reconcile inventory general ledger accounts and provide inventory reports as needed.
• Verify, allocate, and post accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payment of accounts payable.
• Monitor bank accounts and track the Company's expenditures and cash flow requirements, maintaining weekly reports.
• Review various contracts to ensure proper accounting treatment.
• Ensure the timely close of monthly financials and execute month-end and year-end close procedures.
• Assist in producing annual budgets and monthly budgets to actual variances.
• Provide bank reporting on time to ensure compliance with covenants.
• Assist in the production of the annual budget and forecasts, including monthly variances from the budget.
• Be responsible for the annual audit and provide external auditors with necessary documentation and support.
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in accounting or business administration.
• CPA (Active) is required.
• Eight (8) or more years of progressive accounting experience required.
• Experience in the construction industry is required.
• SAGE 300 or similar job costing software (CMiC, Star Builder, Foundation) preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally with other departments, promoting best practices and developing solutions to business challenges.
