About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Social Services Eligibility Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our staff, you will play a crucial role in determining the eligibility of individuals for various social services government assistance programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct interviews with clients to determine their eligibility for assistance and re-determine their continuing eligibility;
  • Explain the nature of temporary assistance benefit programs and assess the reasons and need for assistance;
  • Process applications for financial assistance and diversion, explain client responsibilities, rights, and program availability;
  • Evaluate the consistency and completeness of data secured, and where indicated, substantiate its accuracy;
  • Compute assistance plans;
  • Determine the need for and amount of allowances for special circumstance items;
  • Evaluate social factors such as education, work experience, and levels of social functioning; and
  • Evaluate the employability of clients and explore potential sources of income.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Some knowledge of basic human behavior, mathematics, and interviewing techniques;
  • Skill in operating a personal computer and associated office software;
  • Able to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing;
  • Ability to analyze information, apply common sense understanding, and exercise sound judgment;
  • Maintain professional ethics related to confidentiality and establish effective working relationships;
  • A high school diploma supplemented by additional training and related work experience, or equivalent combination of training and experience.
Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $45,000 - $65,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience. Additionally, you will have access to a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
