Critical Care Technician Job Summary

At CHI Health Lakeside, we are seeking a skilled Critical Care Technician to join our team. As a Critical Care Technician, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and support to our patients and families.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in performing documentation in the patient chart, patient activities of daily living, and basic nursing care procedures as directed by the Registered Nurse.
  • Provide care, comfort, and safety of assigned patients under close direction of the registered nurse.
  • Answer call lights and respond to patient requests and/or relay to Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse responsible for patients care.
  • Accept medication deliveries and distribute to secure designated areas on the unit.
  • Perform order entry functions by transcribing physician orders onto the Medication Administration Record, entering them in the computer, and/or scheduling diagnostic tests, therapies, physician appointments, etc., with the appropriate departments or offices.

Requirements:

  • Must be at least 16 years of age as required by state.
  • Must have CNA or EMT certification.
  • Nurse Assistants must be on the Nebraska Nurse Aide Registry.
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) from the American Heart Association upon hire.
