Position Summary

The Pipeline Maintenance Specialist is responsible for the upkeep and operation of NGL and crude oil pipelines, pump stations, and associated machinery. This role involves working with various equipment such as pumps, motor-operated valves, pressure switches, and electronic controls. The Specialist will conduct mechanical inspections, troubleshooting, repairs, and replacements to ensure optimal equipment performance and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Conducting routine maintenance on turbines, pumps, and electric motors, including bearing replacements and alignments.
  • Performing maintenance on mechanical equipment such as block valves, control valves, and air compressors.
  • Assisting in the replacement of turbines, pumps, and other essential equipment.
  • Operating custody transfer measurement facilities and conducting product quality control tests.
  • Participating in training programs and safety meetings to comply with industry regulations.
  • Reviewing procedures to ensure adherence to company and regulatory standards.
  • Executing preventative maintenance and maintaining a safe and clean facility environment.
  • Providing technical support and training to team members.
  • Utilizing precision tools and test equipment as necessary.
  • Responding to operational emergencies and performing required inspections.
  • Overseeing pipeline locates and excavations.
  • Launching and receiving cleaning pigs and smart pigs.
  • Installing pipeline markers and conducting routine inspections.
  • Maintaining corrosion control equipment and participating in damage prevention meetings.
  • Interfacing with various landowners and stakeholders.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
  • High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
  • Vocational certificate or Associate's Degree in a related field is preferred.
  • Prior experience in maintenance and repair standards within the industry.
  • Understanding of NGL and crude oil pipeline design and operation.
  • Basic computer proficiency, including spreadsheet and word processing skills.
  • Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience, preferably in the energy sector.
  • Experience with the operation and maintenance of crude oil and NGL pipeline facilities is advantageous.
  • Strong commitment to safety and the ability to demonstrate mechanical aptitude.
  • Capability to read and interpret technical documents such as schematics and P&IDs.
  • Effective communication skills and a strong work ethic.
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Flexibility to handle multiple tasks under varying conditions.
  • Willingness to work overtime and respond to call-outs as needed.
  • Self-motivated with a history of reliability and accountability.
  • Good organizational skills and customer service orientation.
  • Ability to work in diverse environments, including extreme weather conditions.
  • Physical capability to lift and maneuver equipment and tools.
  • Comfortable working at heights and in various positions.
  • Responsive to visual and auditory signals, including alarms and instructions.
