Enterprise Products is seeking a highly skilled Plant Operations Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of our natural gas amine treating plants, compressors, and pipeline systems.
Key Responsibilities- Operate and maintain natural gas plant and pipeline equipment, including amine treating plants, chilled water gas conditioning skids, reciprocating natural gas compressors, TEG dehydrators, fluid separation equipment, valves, and gas measurement equipment.
- Start-up and shutdown of plant equipment, ensuring safe and efficient operation.
- Monitor and adjust controls to operate equipment within recommended operating ranges.
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance tasks to detect malfunctions or need for repair, adjustment, or lubrication.
- De-pressurize equipment and pipelines as required.
- Operate valves and monitor plant and pipeline operations, responding to emergency or upset conditions.
- Implement safe work practices and participate in proactive safety culture, ensuring safety for employees, the public, and the environment.
- Monitor gas gathering systems through SCADA and alert customers of potential issues affecting gas deliveries.
- Ensure regulatory compliance and maintain accurate records.
- Read, monitor, and record various operating conditions, including pressure, temperature, hours of operation, fuel consumption, water levels, and more.
- Perform minor maintenance tasks on equipment, including reciprocating natural gas compressors, TEG dehydrators, fluid separation equipment, valves, and more.
- Replace filters, oil, chemicals, and other lubricating fluids as needed.
- Change gauges and maintain sites in a clean condition, including trash removal, weed control, and minor painting.
- Clean out site glasses as necessary.
- Replace suction and discharge valves on natural gas compressors, light bulbs, and fuses.
- Improve customer satisfaction by meeting their needs and demands.
- Maintain a safe driving record.
- Supervise contract labor involved in plant maintenance activities.
- Collaborate with direct supervisors on new and improved ideas for plant and pipeline systems.
- A minimum of a high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent is required.
- Technical certification or equivalent training in a mechanical environment or energy-related field is preferred.
- A valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record is required.
- Knowledge of system operation, control, and design is essential.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations and basic computer skills are required.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with less definition, policy, and bureaucracy.
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in and around industrial and electrical equipment.
- Ability to work in temperature extremes and use physical force to lift, push, pull, and hold equipment and tools.
- Ability to climb and work at various heights and react to visual, aural, and other signals.
- Ability to work in confined spaces and lift up to 50 pounds, manually transport a load up to 75 pounds, and apply up to 100 foot-pounds of torque.
