We are seeking a skilled Mechanic III - Production Equipment Specialist to join our team at Pharmavite LLC. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing a variety of skilled mechanic work to set up production equipment, perform preventative maintenance, and lubrication of equipment.
Key Responsibilities- Equipment Maintenance: Use hand tools, portable power tools, machine tools, electrical/diagnostic equipment, fabricating equipment, and material handling equipment to make repairs to facilities and equipment such as motors, pumps, conveyor belts, fans, etc.
- Preventative Maintenance: Perform routine preventive maintenance on mechanical and/or electrical equipment such as making regular inspections and lubricating moving parts.
- Production Support: Complete production run set-ups and changeovers on Manufacturing/Packaging equipment as scheduled. Involved in training Equipment Operators on basic trouble shooting skills.
- Equipment Troubleshooting: Develops and maintains some knowledge of mechanical and electrical equipment used by Pharmavite; reviews maintenance manuals when troubleshooting a problem or to learn how to repair equipment.
- Parts Management: Identifies needed parts and orders them, within approval limits, as necessary.
- Vendor Communication: Contacts vendors and other resources to investigate the repair of production machinery.
- Computerized Maintenance Management System: Uses computerized maintenance management system to access information.
- Continuous Improvement: Involved in Continuous Improvement teams and participates in project activities. Strong problem-solving skills directed at preventive programs to develop solutions to manufacturing problems.
- Compliance: Performs duties in compliance with standard operating and safety procedures.
- Education: A High School Diploma or its equivalent is required.
- Certification: Technical certification preferred.
- Experience: Requires a minimum of three years of combined training and experience in similar positions in Maintenance and Manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Requires:
- Skills that include proficient knowledge of at least one of three mechanical and fabrication skills as defined under the mechanic skills matrix.
- Demonstrated knowledge of industrial, electrical, and administrative skills.
- Demonstrated knowledge of an enterprise resource planning system. JDE preferred.
- Working knowledge of Windows Office (i.e. updating spreadsheets).
- Fluent English skills to read/understand complex maintenance manuals, safety procedures, communicate with supervisors, vendors, and others, and maintain routine records such as materials lists and labor requirements.
Stand/walk and perform physical labor for most of the working shift. Pull, push, squat, etc. to accomplish repairs. Intermittently lift loads of up to 50 pounds.
EnvironmentIntermittent exposure to noise levels loud enough to require the use of hearing protection. Warm or cold temperature levels, fumes, vibration, dust, etc., sufficient to cause minor discomfort. Must wear personal protective equipment as required.
