Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Aerial Foreman to join our team at Kanaan Communications, LLC. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a crew of technicians in the installation and maintenance of aerial telecommunications cable. This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and a commitment to safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a crew of technicians in the installation and maintenance of aerial telecommunications cable
  • Ensure that all construction operations are completed in accordance with customer and industry specifications
  • Ensure the highest level of safety and quality control requirements are upheld
  • Instruct and follow all OSHA and Company Fall Safety procedures
  • Responsible for proper, accurate and timely submission of dailies and production reports
  • Work with crew to install and repair aerial telecommunications cable
  • Safely use hand tools and equipment such as; wrenches, drills, ladders, lanyards, saws, lashers, climbing hooks, and more
  • Safely operate mechanized equipment such as; bucket trucks, digger derrick, excavators, and more
  • Setting up safety perimeter using signage, cones, safety barriers
  • Flagging traffic when required
  • Understanding of separation and clearance regulations
  • Ability to safely work aloft using climbing hooks and ladders
Requirements
  • 1-3 years prior experience in construction, cable, telecommunications or related industries; leadership experience preferred
  • Able to perform the physical tasks required in this position for the entire assigned shift
  • Ability to operate various types of trucks and equipment
  • Drive and/or operate diesel or gasoline powered equipment to/from/on jobsite (CDL preferred)
  • Maintain safe working habits/conditions according to all regulations and policies
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers, employees, etc. in the accomplishments of North Sky's goals
Essential Physical Requirements
  • Climb into and out of equipment (trucks, cars, backhoes, trenchers, etc.)
  • Operate or work around heavy equipment and machinery
  • Repetitive motion with hand, wrist, feet, head, and shoulder
  • Work in congested or remote areas
  • Work while standing or sitting for several hours at a time
  • Must be able to work in small/sometimes confined areas
  • Must be able to work in variable heights/depths
  • Must be able to lift/carry up to 50+ pounds
  • Reach, bend and stoop while performing work
  • Maintain visual and audible contact with other crewman and all moving or stationary persons/vehicles/objects to ensure safe coordination of movement
  • Work while wearing safety boots, safety glasses and hardhat
  • Work in extreme weather conditions depending on geographical location (below freezing to over 100 degrees and in very windy conditions)
