Job Summary:

The Project Manager position at Southland Industries is responsible for overseeing the management of smaller projects or a portion of a larger, complex project. This role may involve managing a team or serving as a project lead, collaborating and mentoring Project Engineers and Project Engineer II's. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring project schedule and deadlines are adhered to.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develops client relationships by providing project status updates to clients and leadership.
  • Manages budget reports, cost and revenue projections, change orders, etc. for the project.
  • Participates in project meetings with internal departments.
  • Partners with stakeholders to ensure the scope and direction of the project is on schedule.
  • Develops budget analysis reports, cost and revenue projections, change orders, and other reports as necessary.
  • Delegates work and serves as a mentor to Project Engineers, providing coaching and performance feedback as necessary.

Requirements:

  • Four-year degree in Engineering, or applicable experience.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in MEP Project Management.
  • Proven ability to manage small teams.
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
  • Strong financial acumen for managing MEP projects with scopes ranging from $50k - $20M.
  • Excellent project management skills.
  • Experience managing subcontractors.
  • Strong computer skills, including CADD, ERP, and Microsoft Office Products, such as Excel.
