Job Summary

The Team Leader, Substance Use Diversion is a critical role within our organization, responsible for leading a team of professionals in providing high-quality substance use treatment services. This position requires a strong clinical background, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Lead a team of counselors and provide individual clinical supervision to ensure high-quality treatment services.

Develop and implement evidence-based practices and treatment philosophies to ensure fidelity to Motivational Interviewing, Trauma-Informed Care, and Harm Reduction.

Collaborate with police department staff to respond to referrals and generate new referrals, effectively managing volume and maintaining communication.

Coordinate program coverage needs, ensuring appropriate staffing coverage for planned and unplanned staff absences.

Refers individuals who screen negative for treatment services back to the police and engages referrals who are appropriate for treatment with Thresholds Substance Use Treatment services.

Uses knowledge of behavioral health conditions to screen and assess risky substance use behaviors, evaluating the interplay of behavioral and substance use conditions and behaviors.

Collaborates with referral and linkage resources to effectively link referrals to needed treatment services.

Meets required productivity targets and completes all documentation within assigned time frames, monitoring and coaching staff on meeting productivity measures.

Requirements

Must meet SUPR Rule 2060 credential requirements for providing services without supervision, including certification as a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC) or licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or Licensed Social Worker (LSW).

Two to four years of clinical experience is required, with leadership/supervisory experience preferred.

Experience working with persons diagnosed with behavioral health needs and in forensic settings is preferred.
