As a Spanish-Speaking Youth Support Specialist, you will deliver family-focused mental health counseling, support, crisis intervention, and case management services tailored for youth and their families.

About the Program:


The Santa Clara County Response Intervention Services and Empowerment (RISE) program is a collaborative initiative involving the Probation Department, Behavioral Health, and Seneca Family of Agencies. RISE caters to clients aged 12-25, offering a range of services including individual, family, and group therapy, case management, and rehabilitation.

The program's short-term objective is to provide evidence-based assessments, planning, and treatment to help youth and families meet probation requirements while addressing mental health, educational, substance abuse, and social service needs. Our long-term vision is to reduce recidivism, enhance psychosocial functioning, and improve community safety.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver counseling and case management services to enrolled youth and their families.
  • Assist clients and families in connecting with natural supports and community resources.
  • Provide crisis intervention and mental health services as needed in various community settings.
  • Participate in treatment reviews, program staff meetings, and Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings as required.
  • Complete mental health documentation and service tracking as necessary.
  • Support planning and transportation arrangements for school, therapy appointments, and court hearings.
  • Attend team meetings, trainings, and supervision sessions while adhering to clinical best practices.
  • Utilize crisis communication and de-escalation techniques, including physical management when applicable.

Qualifications:
Required:
  • Bilingual Spanish proficiency.

Education/Experience Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree OR
  • Associate's degree or equivalent plus 1 year of relevant experience OR
  • High School Diploma/GED plus 2 years of relevant experience.

Relevant experience may include paid or volunteer work with youth or families or in the social services sector.

Must have a flexible schedule, including availability for some evening hours and participation in a rotating emergency on-call system.

Must be at least 21 years old, possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record, and meet insurability requirements through Seneca Family of Agencies' insurance policy.

Must have TB test clearance, fingerprinting clearance, and comply with any state/federal licensing or certification requirements.

Proof of up-to-date COVID-19 vaccination is required.


Preferred:
  • Experience working with children/youth and families facing complex and ongoing challenges.
  • Experience in implementing family-centered services.
  • Familiarity with community resources available for young adults.

Work Schedule:
Full-time, Monday - Friday; 9 am - 5:30 pm.
