Role Responsibilities

The Field Service Technician is responsible for extensive travel to troubleshoot, maintain, and initiate operations of KHS filling and packaging machinery. This role serves as a vital communication bridge between our clients and the company, ensuring exceptional service delivery.

  • Receive travel assignments from scheduling personnel and arrange timely travel to meet customer needs.
  • Engage with clients to identify machine issues, conduct preliminary troubleshooting, and ascertain the location of the problem.
  • Execute hands-on electrical and mechanical repairs on designated KHS machinery, ensuring compliance with operational specifications; collaborate with clients and the Parts department to procure necessary components.
  • Diagnose and modify programs within Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC).
  • Inspect and document any missing or bypassed safety features on KHS machinery, facilitating necessary repairs or replacements.
  • Provide training to clients for effective machine operation and maintenance; assist operators with adjustments for various packaging sizes or formats; prepare initial invoices for client approval.
  • Work under the guidance of senior technicians to commission new machinery, verify power systems and wiring; adhere to lockout/tagout protocols to assess machine functionality; ensure product flow is uninterrupted; liaise with internal teams to resolve technical challenges.
  • Compile clear, precise, and professional Equipment Acceptance Reports, Service Work Reports, Expense Reports, and other documentation related to customer visits; maintain communication with KHS internal teams regarding service activities; ensure reports are submitted within three weeks post-service. Conduct periodic assessments of customer spare parts inventory and recommend additional orders to support ongoing equipment maintenance.
Candidate Profile
  • Bachelor's degree in computer or electrical engineering, complemented by strong mechanical aptitude or equivalent education/training.
  • In-depth knowledge of machinery in the beverage and packaging sector, with a minimum of three years of relevant experience.
  • Strong analytical skills for addressing technical challenges.
  • Demonstrated flexibility, assertiveness, and organizational capabilities.
  • Confident demeanor and a friendly approach.
  • Willingness to travel extensively, up to 90% of the time.
