The Cleveland Clinic's renowned Pediatric Oncology Unit specializes in comprehensive cancer treatment, supported by cutting-edge research initiatives aimed at enhancing patient outcomes and quality of life.

Our nursing team is dedicated to the assessment and management of a diverse range of pediatric malignancies and hematologic disorders. We provide a holistic approach to care, ensuring that our patients receive coordinated support from admission through to discharge. We are currently seeking a full-time Registered Nurse for our pediatric hematology/oncology unit.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct nursing care in alignment with established protocols and procedures.
  • Monitor and document patient conditions, assessing the effectiveness and timeliness of interventions.
  • Review and adjust care plans to achieve desired health outcomes.
  • Act as the primary liaison among various healthcare disciplines to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments following approved nursing guidelines.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Implement and oversee patient care plans.
  • Assess and coordinate discharge planning needs with the healthcare team.
  • Provide educational resources and validate patient and family understanding of care plans.
  • Engage in continuous professional development through formal and informal education.

Qualifications:

  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
  • Minimum one year of acute care RN experience in a hospital setting is required.
  • Compliance with certification requirements as applicable to the pediatric nursing specialty.
