Position Overview:
As a Registered Nurse in the Pediatric Oncology unit at Cleveland Clinic, you will be an integral part of a dedicated team focused on providing exceptional care to young patients facing cancer diagnoses. This specialized unit is designed to support children with both solid tumors and metastatic conditions.

Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver compassionate nursing care to pediatric patients in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.
- Offer emotional, spiritual, and psychological support to children and their families.
- Engage in continuous learning and professional development alongside leading physicians in the field.
- Coordinate comprehensive patient care by implementing and monitoring individualized care plans.
- Act as the primary liaison among various healthcare disciplines to ensure seamless patient care.
- Assess and facilitate discharge planning in conjunction with the healthcare team.
- Maintain ongoing professional growth through formal education and clinical practice.

Qualifications:
- Graduate from an accredited nursing program.
- For critical care areas, certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is required within the first year of employment.
- RNs in the Pediatric unit must achieve and maintain Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
- Completion of the ONS Chemo/Bio course is necessary within two years for those administering chemotherapy.
- Critical thinking skills and the ability to work independently are essential.

Work Experience:
- External candidates should possess a minimum of two years of relevant nursing experience.
- Internal candidates with less than two years of experience may be considered following a review process.

Personal Protective Equipment:
- Adhere to standard precautions and utilize personal protective equipment as required.
