Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Project Engineer to lead multidisciplinary teams of engineers in developing complex engineering solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical, mechanical, software, and systems engineering, as well as excellent leadership and project execution skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead project technical execution and maintain performance metrics for decision making and continuous improvement purposes
  • Manage project scope (requirements and change requests) ensuring it meets agreed to commitments
  • Generate and maintain project schedules with understood dependencies, deliveries, and critical path
  • Utilize Earned Value (EV) methods for managing project budget (and schedule)
  • Ensure project meets quality expectations
  • Identify risks and opportunities and resolve them through proactive ownership
  • Prepare well-crafted presentations reporting project status to leadership teams
  • Develop Engineering estimates and proposals for potential projects and gaining organizational buy-in
Requirements
  • 3+ years of experience providing customers with quality experiences, establishing and maintaining effective relationships
  • 3+ years of Electrical, Mechanical, Software and Systems engineering experience
  • 3+ years of responsibility organizing a team or project
  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience
  • U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or granted refugee or asylee status)

  • In-depth knowledge of Agile process and principles
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Fundamental project management skills including baseline control, earned value, and risk management
  • Experience with Microsoft Project
  • Outstanding communication, presentation and leadership skills
  • Sharp analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Attention to details
  • Stress tolerance - maintaining a calm and positive outlook during stressful situations
  • Ability to multitask effectively on several active projects
