Job Summary

The Senior Network Engineer is a key member of the Enterprise Infrastructure team at Virtua, responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the company's critical network and telecommunications systems. This includes local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), Internet connectivity, telecommunication solutions, load balancers, and other infrastructure to support Virtua's business requirements and strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical assistance and level 4 support to internal and external customers, responding to requests from the Customer Support Center, staff, site personnel, and outside vendors.
  • Implement and administer LAN/WAN networks in multiple locations, supporting VoIP-based phone systems and video conferencing, including switches, routers, firewalls, VPN tunnels, load balancers, DNS/IP address management, and backup/recovery solutions.
  • Mentor and guide junior team members on technical issues and emerging technologies, promoting knowledge sharing and skill development within the team.
  • Automate and optimize recurring tasks, monitoring their effectiveness and providing feedback to management on recommendations for improving network-related systems and solutions.
  • Lead network technology upgrade or expansion projects, including installation of hardware, software, and integration testing, as well as coordinating these activities without disrupting other systems.
  • Provide technical recommendations to improve network-related systems and solutions, ensuring they support the business and protect company information assets.
Requirements
  • 6-10 years of experience in supporting enterprise network systems.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity Engineering, or a related field.
  • Technical certification preferred, such as Cisco CCNP, Cisco CCIE, Aruba AMCP, or Palo Alto PCNSE.
  • Valid driver's license required.
