We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Records Coder to join our team at Methodist Health System. As a Medical Records Coder, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and completeness of patient data, which will be used to inform clinical decisions and improve patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities- Classify and abstract inpatient and outpatient diagnoses and procedures using ICD10-CM, ICD10 PCS, and CPT codes
- Establish and maintain accurate databases for case mix indices, providing statistical reporting and trend analysis
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide high-quality care for patients
- Communicate effectively with physicians, healthcare workers, and other stakeholders
- Stay up-to-date with coding guidelines and regulations
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Minimum of 2 years of DRG-based coding experience in an acute care hospital
- Proficient in detailed work and able to maintain confidentiality
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Team-oriented and able to work collaboratively
