About the Role
- Patient Access Services Representative - Rapid Clinic/Clinic
- Part-Time .5-.8 FTE hours per pay period
- Shifts include Days, Evenings, and Every Third Weekend
- On-site at Grand Itasca Clinic & Hospital
Job Summary:
The Patient Access Services Representative is tasked with overseeing the patient registration process. This role includes verifying insurance information and ensuring the completion of registrations. Additionally, the representative is responsible for initiating referrals and securing financial accounts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Welcome patients arriving for scheduled appointments by obtaining necessary consents, signatures, documents, and insurance verification.
- Schedule patient appointments efficiently.
- Collect co-payments at the time of service.
- Identify coverage or self-pay issues and engage Financial Advocates as necessary.
- Input patient information and scan required documents into the scheduling system.
- Collaborate with the Business Department to support the revenue cycle.
- Exhibit excellent customer service skills with both patients and colleagues.
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- One year of customer service experience is required.
- An associate degree in a business-related field is preferred.
- Ability to collect co-payments and communicate financial information effectively.
- Strong computer skills are essential.
- Exceptional customer service abilities are a must.
- Adherence to all Grand Itasca Clinic & Hospital policies is required.
- Consistent and reliable attendance is expected.
- Willingness to cover all Patient Access areas as needed.
- One year of admitting or health insurance experience is preferred.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
