Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief of Staff to join our team at the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine. The successful candidate will serve as a senior advisor to the Chair and be a key member of the Department's executive leadership team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic advice and guidance to the Chair on Departmental initiatives and priorities
  • Manage complex and sensitive matters, including confidential communications and stakeholder engagement
  • Develop and implement strategic plans and initiatives to achieve Departmental goals
  • Oversee the Department's communications, donor/alumni outreach, and marketing initiatives
  • Collaborate with senior University administrators and leaders to ensure alignment with Departmental initiatives
Requirements
  • Master's degree and 5-7 years of experience in a university and/or healthcare setting
  • Experience as an executive-level strategic planner and communicator
  • Strong command of language and creative writing abilities
  • Long-term strategic thinking skills and creative problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work comfortably and skillfully with senior executives, faculty, and staff at all levels of Penn Medicine
