Records and Information Management Specialist

This position is located within the Department of the Interior, Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement (BSEE), Office of Administration, Records Delegations and Directives Team (RDDT) in Sterling, VA.
Key Responsibilities- Implement electronic and non-electronic records procedures and guidance in collaboration with various program staff and stakeholders.
- Analyze records information technology systems, software applications, databases, or cloud products/services to identify gaps in compliance electronic records system requirements.
- Coordinate with business owners and internal users in guiding their electronic records retention strategies.
- Advise leadership on enterprise-wide data governance with a focus on controlled unclassified information management.
- You must be a U.S. Citizen.
- You will be subject to a background/suitability investigation/determination.
- You will be required to have federal payments made by Direct Deposit.
- You must submit ALL required documents and a completed questionnaire.
To qualify for this position, you must meet the Specialized Experience for the grade to which you are applying.
Specialized experience is experience that equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled.
Specialized experience is defined as demonstrated experience in implementing electronic and non-electronic records procedures and guidance, analyzing records information technology systems, coordinating with business owners, and advising leadership on enterprise-wide data governance.
Working ConditionsWork is generally sedentary, with some standing, stooping, and lifting of records and boxes up to 30 pounds.
You may be expected to travel for site visits, meetings, training, and conferences.
Salary InformationGS-12: $99,200 (Step 1) - $128,956 (Step 10) per annum.
First time hires to the federal government typically start at the beginning salary in the range for their respective grade level.
