About the Role

Mercy Health is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Radiology Support Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Radiology department, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our imaging services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Organize and maintain a clean and safe environment for patients and staff
  • Assist with the preparation and maintenance of radiographic equipment and accessories
  • Transport patients to and from radiology suites, using two patient identifiers for verification
  • Operate stretchers, patient beds, and wheelchairs safely and efficiently
  • Review daily department schedules to ensure efficient workflow and collaboration with radiologic team members
  • Maintain office and medical supplies, ordering replacements as needed
  • Provide excellent customer service to patients and visitors, responding promptly and politely to their needs
  • Operate radiographic equipment and accessories in accordance with ALARA principles
Requirements
  • BLS Basic Life Support certification (preferred upon hire, must obtain from approved source prior to direct patient care)
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 1 year of patient care experience (preferred)
  • Experience with Radiology Information System (preferred)
Preferred Qualifications
  • EPIC Electronic Health Record (EHR) experience
  • Picture archiving communication system (PACS) experience
Working Conditions
  • Periods of high stress and fluctuating workloads may occur
  • May be exposed to physical altercations and verbal abuse
  • May be required to use physical restraints
  • May be exposed to high noise levels and bright lights
  • May be exposed to limited hazardous substances or body fluids
  • May be exposed to human blood and other potentially infectious materials
  • May have periods of constant interruptions
