**Job Summary:**
We are seeking a skilled Plumber to join our team at the State of Michigan. As a Plumber, you will be responsible for participating in and overseeing plumbing installation, repair, and maintenance projects on state properties.
Key Responsibilities:
- Participate in and oversee plumbing installation, repair, and maintenance projects on state properties.
- Function as a crew leader, overseeing the work of lower-level Plumbers, prisoners, and others.
- Perform journey-level plumbing assignments.
- Ensure compliance with state regulations and safety protocols.
- Collaborate with other teams to achieve project goals.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Five years of experience in the plumbing trade, including one year equivalent to a Plumber E9 in State service.
- Completion of a vocational training program in plumbing that includes commercial or industrial level instruction may be substituted for two years of experience assisting skilled trades people.
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) issued by the Secretary of State as required by Public Act 346 of 1988 to operate a designated state vehicle.
- Journey plumber's license issued by the Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Growth.
Working Conditions:
- 50% or more prisoner contact and/or supervision.
- Work in the secured area of the prison.
