About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Track Design Engineer to join our team at Colliers Engineering & Design. As a key member of our rail engineering team, you will be responsible for applying engineering fundamentals to support project design teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform complex engineering calculations and create detailed estimates.
  • Research and apply relevant code provisions to design railway infrastructure.
  • Develop cost estimates for project alternatives and ensure compliance with company and client standards.
  • Verify design methodology, calculations, and outcomes to ensure quality and accuracy.
  • Interpret drawings from multiple disciplines and create 3D models.
  • Research design options and document findings for project engineers and managers.
  • Submit concept designs and work through approval processes, including permits from municipalities.
  • Collaborate with senior engineers to create project designs and ensure timely completion.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Civil Engineering.
  • 4-8 years of experience in track design and railroad engineering.
  • Proficiency in Microstation and OpenRoads.
  • Ability to develop drawings by modifying or replicating prior projects.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to ensure designs meet company and client standards.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to read, write, and understand English for job-related communications and instructions.
