Per Diem Nuclear Medicine Technologist Job Description

Mass General Brigham is seeking a skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team on a per diem basis. As a Nuclear Medicine Technologist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our department.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assay, record, prepare, and administer radiopharmaceuticals.
  • Operate SPECT, SPECT/CT, and PET/CT imaging and radiation detection equipment to obtain diagnostic images and information.
  • Ensure patient safety and comfort during exams.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to provide comprehensive patient care.
  • Stay up-to-date with developments and trends in imaging techniques, procedures, and equipment.
  • Participate in education programs and continuing education credits.
  • Supervise and teach Nuclear Medicine Technology students.
  • Prepare equipment, rooms, and supplies for patient exams.
  • Dispose of radioactive waste and contamination.
  • Practice safe radiation protection practices and comply with ALARA principles.
Requirements:
  • Graduate of an approved school of Nuclear Medicine Technology.
  • Valid Massachusetts license as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist.
  • Registered or eligible for certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT-N) or the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB).
  • Interpersonal skills sufficient to interact effectively with patients.
  • Analytical abilities necessary to acquire and effectively utilize knowledge of radiation detection, imaging, and computer processing techniques.
