As a Special Procedures Technologist in our Interventional Radiology Lab at Banner Health, you will play a crucial role in our dedicated team. Our facility is recognized as a Magnet institution, an Academic Medical Center, a Level 1 Trauma Center, and a Comprehensive Stroke Center. The Interventional Radiology Lab is high acuity, focusing on venous, arterial, and non-endovascular interventions. Key procedures include angiograms, angioplasty, stent placements, neuro coiling, stroke thrombectomy, embolization of bleeds, Y-90 for liver cancer, ablations, and line placements for chemotherapy and hemodialysis.

The IR team consists of highly skilled professionals, including registered nurses, interventional radiologists, neuro-interventionalists, advanced practice providers, and special procedure technologists. We foster a collaborative environment with our Interventionalist Physicians, many of whom have been with us for over a decade.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Assist in the execution of diagnostic and interventional radiology endovascular procedures, adhering to departmental policies and protocols.
2. Prepare patients and the work area for procedures, ensuring all necessary supplies are available and in good working order.
3. Review cases for required supplies and plan for upcoming procedures.
4. Anticipate the physician's needs during procedures, passing wires, catheters, and devices as necessary.
5. Uphold aseptic and sterile techniques, along with universal precautions throughout all procedures.

Shift Details: 4x10's; Rotating Monday - Friday 7:30 AM - 6:00 PM, with rotating days off. Limited call requirement.

Position Summary: This role involves performing specialized high acuity neurologic and body-focused radiographic procedures as directed, following established departmental policies and protocols to ensure optimal patient care.

Core Functions:
1. Execute radiographic diagnostic/interventional special procedures based on referring providers' orders, utilizing independent judgment and established methodologies.
2. Educate patients and families about the procedures and treatments.
3. Produce high-quality images and prepare them for timely interpretation, maintaining accurate documentation.
4. Demonstrate competence in performing prescribed invasive/interventional procedures as applicable.
5. Conduct equipment quality control measurements and maintain a safe environment for all.
6. Ensure efficient workflow and maintain adequate inventory of supplies.

Minimum Qualifications: Certificate or diploma from an accredited Radiologic Technology program. Requires demonstrated competency in neuro-interventional radiology procedures. National certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and state licensure if applicable. BLS certification required.
