Mercy Hospital Ardmore LPN Surgical Med/Surg Night Shift Job

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate LPN to join our Surgical Med/Surg team at Mercy Hospital Ardmore. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care and support to patients recovering from surgery.

About the Job

This 32-bed unit is a fast-paced and dynamic environment where you will have the opportunity to develop your skills and expertise in caring for patients with a variety of medical conditions, including those requiring wound care, chest tubes, and other specialized treatments.

As an LPN on our Surgical Med/Surg unit, you will work closely with our interdisciplinary team to provide individualized care to patients, including those with pneumonia, COPD, and other medical conditions. You will also have the opportunity to work with patients who are recovering from surgery, including those who have undergone colon resections, hip replacements, and other procedures.

Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality patient care and support to patients recovering from surgery
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans for patients
  • Work closely with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate patient care
  • Administer medications and treatments as ordered by physicians
  • Monitor patients' vital signs and report any changes to the healthcare team
  • Assist with wound care, chest tube care, and other specialized treatments
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program
  • Current LPN license in the state of hire
  • Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association
  • Ability to stand/walk most of the time on duty, with significant bending and stooping, lifting, and turning patients with assistance
