Responsibilities

Position Summary:

The Physician Assistant specializing in Trauma, Acute Care Surgery, and Orthopedics plays a vital role in delivering and coordinating care for patients experiencing trauma and orthopedic conditions. This position is essential in ensuring that patients receive high-quality medical attention throughout their treatment journey. The Physician Assistant functions as a skilled clinician while also serving as a consultant, educator, and advocate for quality improvement.

Collaboration is key in this role, as the Physician Assistant works closely with the medical and nursing staff, as well as ancillary personnel, patients, and their families. This teamwork approach is crucial for fostering an interdisciplinary environment that enhances patient care. The Physician Assistant reports directly to the Trauma Program Director and maintains a connection with the Trauma Medical Director.

Additionally, the Physician Assistant contributes to the development of standardized procedures and protocols, assisting the Trauma Program Director in achieving departmental objectives.

Qualifications
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in an acute care setting, particularly with trauma, orthopedic, and ICU patients.
  • Training in surgical and trauma care.
  • Experience in first assisting and conducting health assessments for trauma patients.
  • Current licensure as a Physician Assistant, along with certifications in ACLS, PALS, and BLS.
  • Desirable skills include auditing ATLS competencies.
Pay Range
$90.24 /hour
