Job Summary

As a Radiologic Technologist IV at Kaiser Permanente, you will play a critical role in assisting physicians in the diagnosis of diseases and injuries. You will operate radiographic equipment to produce high-quality images of the body, ensuring optimal diagnostic quality and patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform specialized and routine diagnostic radiology procedures, including fluoroscopic and special x-ray examinations.
  • Explain procedures to patients, reducing anxieties and obtaining cooperation.
  • Prepare and position patients for diagnostic imaging procedures, ensuring their comfort and safety.
  • Adjust immobilization devices and equipment controls to obtain optimal images.
  • Operate mobile radiologic equipment in various settings, including operating rooms and patient bedsides.
  • Assist radiologists and other qualified physicians in fluoroscopic and special x-ray examinations.
  • Process and review images for proper identification and quality control.
  • Perform routine maintenance, diagnose malfunctions, and make minor repairs on radiologic equipment.
  • Practice radiation protection techniques to minimize radiation exposure to patients and staff.
  • Complete forms and maintain records, logs, and reports of work performed.
  • Orient new hires and train students.
Requirements
  • Minimum of two years of experience in a specialty, or one year of experience with an American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Certification in that specialty.
  • High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.
  • Certified Radiologic Technologist - Fluoroscopy Certificate (California) and Certified Radiologic Technologist - Venipuncture Certificate (California) required.
  • Basic Life Support certification required.
  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to effectively present information to individuals and groups with varying knowledge of Radiology services.
