Kaiser Permanente is seeking a skilled Diagnostic Imaging Specialist to join our team in Santa Clara, California.

Job Summary

Under the direction of the Imaging Services Director and Chief of Diagnostic Imaging, this role will perform radiographic diagnostic imaging procedures to assist physicians in the diagnosis of disease and injuries. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mammography and be able to operate radiographic equipment to produce high-quality images.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform specialized and routine diagnostic radiology procedures
  • Explain procedures to patients to reduce anxieties and obtain cooperation
  • Prepare and position patients for diagnostic imaging procedures
  • Determine exposure factors and adjust equipment controls to produce images of proper detail, density, and accuracy
  • Operate mobile radiologic equipment in operating rooms, emergency rooms, or at patients' bedsides
  • Assist radiologists and other qualified physicians in fluoroscopic and special x-ray examinations
  • Process images and review for proper identification and quality control
  • Perform routine maintenance, diagnose malfunctions, and make minor repairs on radiologic equipment
  • Practice radiation protection techniques to minimize radiation to patients and staff
Requirements
  • Minimum of two years of experience in a specialty, such as mammography, or one year of experience with an American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification in that specialty
  • High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required
  • Certified Radiologic Technologist - Fluoroscopy Certificate (California)
  • Certified Radiologic Technologist - Venipuncture Certificate (California)
  • Basic Life Support
