Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Neonatal Nurse Practitioner to join our team at UTHealth Houston. As a key member of our Neonatology department, you will provide exceptional patient care and work collaboratively with our team of healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality care to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations and assessments to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Provide direct patient care, including monitoring and ordering medications, and collaborating with physicians to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Participate in daily rounds and multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient progress and develop care plans.
  • Assist in the collection of patient histories, screening for co-morbidities, and providing guidance and preventative health care as needed.
  • Perform physical examinations and provide episodic care under the supervision of a physician.
  • Order and interpret laboratory, diagnostic, and radiographic tests as needed.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, preparing charts for review and counter signature by physicians.
Requirements
  • Current Texas licensure as a Registered Nurse and APRN-NP.
  • Current specialty certification as required by department, excluding FNP certification unless paired with a post-master's certification in specialty.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or specialty certification as required by department.
  • Masters in Nursing as NP or Masters in Nursing with completion of a post-master's Nurse Practitioner Certification Program.
