Job Description:

As a Chemist III at the Dept of State Health Services, you will play a crucial role in analyzing environmental samples using gas chromatography and other advanced techniques. Your primary responsibility will be to perform complex analysis on samples, ensuring accurate and reliable results. You will work closely with the team to develop and validate methods, troubleshoot equipment, and maintain quality control standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform complex analysis on environmental samples using gas chromatography, GC/MS, and HPLC.
  • Develop and validate methods for sample analysis, ensuring compliance with EPA and TNI standards.
  • Troubleshoot equipment and maintain quality control standards, ensuring accurate and reliable results.
  • Work closely with the team to track samples, review data, and report results.
  • Perform maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment, ensuring optimal performance.
  • Assist with method development and validation projects, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in chemistry, environmental sciences, or a related field.
  • Recent experience in performing gas chromatography and data processing.
  • Experience working in a production laboratory environment, preferably with EPA organic analytical methods.
  • Strong knowledge of EPA and TNI quality systems, data acquisition systems, and laboratory quality control and quality assurance systems.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
