JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Senior Cost Estimator will be tasked with the precise estimation of costs associated with construction projects, primarily focusing on roof replacements through insurance claims. This position demands a comprehensive understanding of collaborating with insurance providers, managing claims, and overseeing commercial projects. The ideal candidate will possess substantial experience with Xactimate software, hold a contractor's license, and have a robust background in roofing, especially concerning storm damage claims.

We are in search of a highly proficient Senior Cost Estimator to supervise and manage construction projects from inception to completion. The perfect candidate will have a solid foundation in construction management and project scheduling.

DUTIES:

  • Generate detailed cost estimates for construction projects, emphasizing insurance claims.
  • Employ Xactimate software to produce accurate and thorough estimates.
  • Collaborate closely with insurance companies and adjusters to ensure efficient and correct processing of all claims.
  • Examine and interpret project plans, specifications, and requirements.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with insurance adjusters, clients, and subcontractors.
  • Oversee and manage commercial project estimations from start to finish.
  • Address sheer claims, problem claims, and estimations for damages on multi-family housing.
  • Negotiate with insurance adjusters throughout the claims process.
  • Ensure all estimates comply with industry standards and company policies.
  • Coordinate with project managers and team members to guarantee accurate and timely project completion.
  • Supervise sales personnel to ensure alignment with project estimates and client expectations.
  • Provide mentorship and support to junior estimators and other team members as necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Demonstrated experience as an Estimator in the construction sector, with a focus on insurance claims and commercial projects.
  • Extensive proficiency in using Xactimate software.
  • Valid contractor's license.
  • Strong grasp of insurance claims processes and protocols.
  • Roofing experience related to storm damage, sheer claims, and problem claims.
  • Experience in both commercial and residential roofing, particularly in roof replacements due to storm damage through insurance.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Capability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Proficient in project management software and tools.
