The Fleet Management Specialist is tasked with overseeing the daily operations of the vehicle fleet for the law enforcement agency. This role encompasses the acquisition, upkeep, repair, and disposal of police vehicles to guarantee optimal operational readiness and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate the maintenance and repair schedules for all police vehicles.
- Collaborate with various departments to assess vehicle requirements and ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
- Evaluate and implement fleet management technologies to enhance operational efficiency.
- Monitor budgetary allocations and expenditures related to fleet operations.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure vehicle safety and performance standards are met.
- Oversee the disposal process for decommissioned vehicles in line with departmental policies.
- Maintain comprehensive records of vehicle assignments, maintenance logs, and fuel consumption.
- Provide training and guidance to fleet maintenance personnel on best practices and new technologies.
Qualifications
Applicants should possess a minimum of three years of full-time experience in business, finance, supply chain management, or a closely related field. A Bachelor's Degree in a relevant discipline is also required. Candidates must hold a valid Class C Pennsylvania Motor Vehicle Operator's License.
Work Environment
This position involves collaboration with various stakeholders and requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and innovation in fleet management.
